Answers to some common customer enquiries
What kind of education and training do you have?
Myself - (Wendy), I have well over 20 years working in UK secondary schools as a fully qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Teaching Key Stage 3, 4 & 5 Mathematics. The other tutors are also fully qualified teacher with QTS and every tutor is fully DBS checked and on the Update Service which provides you or your child a safe, professional, and trusted learning environment.
What exam boards have you worked with?
I have worked with all the major Maths exam boards - Edexcel, AQA and OCR. Keeping myself fully up to date with any changes that are implemented by any one of the exam boards or the Department for Education.
How much are the lessons?
Lessons start from as little as £25 per hour, we offer various services from small group sessions to premium one-to-one.
Do you offer discount?
We offer various discounts including - block booking discounts, monthly retainer discounts.
How do I pay for the lessons?
Lessons are usually paid for in advance and payments are made via bank transfer, direct debit/credit card or can be paid via monthly standing order.
What if I need to change our day or time?
We offer the flexibility of rescheduling you normal time-slot when you need to make changes, all we ask if that you give us as must notice as possible, minimum 24 hours.
What happens in school holidays?
Some students prefer to keep their normal time-slot, some prefer to change the time or day and others have the holidays off. It all depends on your preferences which is usually discussed prior to the holidays starting.
What is QTS?
Having QTS is a legal certification required to teach in state-maintained schools in England and Wales. It acts as a professional license, ensuring teachers meet specific professional standards. QTS is also widely required to teach in any International schools around the world.
What is a DBS check?
A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is a background screening in the UK that reveals an individual's criminal convictions and cautions, helping employers make safer recruitment decisions. Formerly known as CRB checks, they are crucial for roles involving children or vulnerable adult.
What is the DBS Update service?
The Update Service allows you to keep your DBS certificate up to date and take your DBS certificate from role to role.
